Job Summary

The Operations Depot Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations of our traffic control equipment depot. They will be hands-on and responsible for overseeing short-term equipment rentals, traffic planning, and the delivery and installation of temporary traffic control systems. They will work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization to service customers, support employees, and champion continuous improvement. They will look to drive business development while allocating resources, leading teams and striving to achieve the company goals and visions of both growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee profit and loss (P&L) performance and turnover management, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, workplace safety, and quality standards, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage personnel within the assigned area, including staffing, performance management, and professional development.
  • Maintain accountability for company assets, including materials and vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization and care.
  • Execute and contribute to the business strategy and operational plans, aligning departmental objectives with company goals.
  • Manage non-revenue-generating orders and expenses in accordance with approved cost limits and company guidelines.
  • Prepare and approve customer quotations and contractual agreements within authorized financial limits and specified timeframes.
  • Allocate and manage resources effectively to maintain operational efficiency within budget constraints.
  • Make operational decisions related to daily activities within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Implement organizational changes within the assigned scope, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, depot management, or a related role, preferably in traffic control, construction, logistics, or rental equipment industries.
  • Proven experience managing P&L, budgeting, and financial performance within an operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Experience with short-term equipment rentals, logistics, and asset management is an asset.
  • Excellent operational and strategic planning abilities, with a focus on efficiency, profitability, and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality control practices.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, cost controls, and profitability strategies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and relevant business management software (e.g., ERP, inventory management, CRM).

In 2022, Ramudden established in Ontario through four acquisitions and has later added another three businesses to the company. Ramudden Canada is active within traffic control, digital services, rental and installation of traffic barriers, and sign manufacturing.
