Job description

Job Summary

The Coordinator contributes to the success of UFV and its student community through the efficient coordination of operational functions, projects, and events within the VP, Students division. This role provides administrative support for the exempt Managers/Directors and requires regular cross-functional collaboration with other staff, administrators, faculty, and students, as well as contacts external to the university.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ relevant, progressive experience at the senior assistant or project coordinator level, preferably in a post-secondary institution environment.
  • Formal or informal learning related to leading in a post-secondary institution (e.g., supervisory skills, educational leadership, indigenization, student success) would be an asset.
  • Superior interpersonal and written communication skills. Experience dealing with the public. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to circumstances that involve conflict, vulnerable populations, highly sensitive topics, risk, etc.
  • High level of competency in a variety of software applications including Microsoft Outlook calendar/email, Word and Excel.
  • Experience in accounting practices and financial reporting.
  • Experience using graphic design software and web content management systems.
  • Highly adaptable and able to manage change. Demonstrated proof of collegiality in a team environment.
