Job description

Keep the Dream Alive. It’s a simple statement that means so much to thousands of LUG Athletes playing in our recreational sports leagues across North America. LUG started as a way for young adults to keep playing the sport they loved in recreational and competitive settings long after minor sports programming ended. From our original roots as a small 6 team hockey league, we have grown into one of the largest adult sports leagues with over 25,000 players across 70+ cities.

With a focus on creating a strong, competitive, inclusive community, and delivering exceptional experiences both on and off the field of play, LUG is the ticket that students, adults, and alumni need for all of their sport and social needs.

About the Role

We’re looking for an organized, communicative Operations Coordinator to build, maintain, and manage league programs. You will take confirmed ice, field, or court allocations and structure them into organized league schedules that meet capacity and game count requirements.

Beyond building programs, this role is heavily focused on in‑season maintenance. You will manage schedule adjustments, forfeits, weather disruptions, facility changes, and ongoing communication to ensure leagues run smoothly. Your job is to protect the player experience by keeping programs accurate, organized, and responsive as real‑world changes occur. You will work directly with facility partners to ensure our games are organized, on‑time, and optimized for the player and staff experience.

This is a detail‑driven, execution‑heavy role for someone who thrives on structure, follow‑through, and solving operational problems quickly.

Responsibilities
  • Build league schedules by structuring confirmed facility availability into executable programs.
  • Design playoff structures based on league sizes and competitiveness objectives
  • Ensure leagues meet required capacity, game counts, and timing standards.
  • Maintain schedules throughout the season, adjusting for forfeits, cancellations, weather, and facility changes.
  • Book facility space to accommodate program needs throughout the season
  • Communicate schedule updates clearly and promptly to internal teams and facility partners.
  • Monitor program health and proactively flag capacity gaps or operational risks.
  • Manage rescheduling and make‑good games when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities at facilities to improve on‑site branding, audio and visual components, and facility relationships to lead to a best‑in‑class player experience.
  • Support payment processing requirements as needed
  • Support the ongoing monitoring, actioning, and organization of Operations team emails and messages
  • Maintain accurate records of facility allocations and schedule changes in internal systems.
  • Ensure league programs reflect contract terms and agreed‑upon facility commitments.
  • Troubleshoot day‑to‑day operational issues to protect the player experience.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
About You
  • 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, coordination, or a similar execution‑focused role.
  • Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing frequent changes without losing structure.
  • Strong communicator who can handle schedule updates and operational conversations professionally.
  • Calm under pressure and quick to problem‑solve when plans shift.
  • Comfortable working inside CRMs and operational systems.
  • Process‑oriented and disciplined in maintaining accurate records.
  • Loves sports and wants to be part of a team making them more accessible and fun.
  • Confident in working independently, problem‑solving on the fly, and holding others accountable to timelines.
  • You’re not just looking for your next role, you’re looking to be part of a winning team that’s building something special and unique.
Additional Notes
  • We’re a remote‑first team and output is more important than facetime, so where you choose to work is up to you — as long as you have internet access, you can work from wherever helps to make you successful, and your family happy.
  • League games typically take place on evenings and weekends. This is not your standard 9‑5. Working day requirements may shift based on leagues running and the season.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Competitive salary and bonus based on company + personal performance
  • Unlimited Time Off
  • 3‑4 weeks of additional mandatory company time off (~3 weeks in December)
  • 4 Day Long Weekends in the Summer
  • 100% company paid comprehensive benefits package for all your health and Premium dental needs
  • RRSP Matching Program partnership with Wealthsimple
  • Monthly athletic fee stipend
  • Free participation in LUG Sports Leagues
  • Up to 12 hours of paid volunteer time annually
