Overview
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the on-shift Operations team to achieve operational and safety performance targets.
In This Role You Will
- Collect, prepare, analyze, and present information and equipment required for operations planning and execution inside the office and outside on the terminal or vessel as required
- Monitor and track performance to planned objectives and/or targets established for the Operations department.
- Process and share Operational KPI results to Internal and External stakeholders daily.
- Complete dispatch, payroll, timesheet and other administrative tasks each shift.
- Maintain SharePoint based documentation and records.
- Promote positive relationships with our labour workforce, by engaging with them daily.
- Collaborate with the operational team during incident investigations, safety observations and contribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety.
- Perform other tasks delegated by shift managers.
What You Bring To This Role
- A degree in business, operational management, logistics or other related discipline.
- Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills, with attention to detail so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Proven ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for achieving desired results.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships and achieve buy in and ownership to quality standards/ initiatives with all departments and levels.
- Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision making, ability to manage projects and prioritize and manage timelines.
- Outstanding computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced data processing and analysis and proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Flexibility to meet the requirements of a 24/7 operation.
- Candidates demonstrating eagerness and initiative to grow and develop leadership skills are preferred.
- Experience working in a safety-focused environment with a strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation and the ability to effectively communicate these values to the workforce.
- Ability to identify safety risks and hazards and maintain situational awareness while navigating through the terminal work environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle in an industrial site.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladder on vessels and equipment as needed during the shift.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor or Coordinator in a fast moving operation, preferably in a unionized setting.
- Fluent in English.
- Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries
