Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to support day-to-day operations at our 100 Mile House, BC base. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Manager of Operations and involves front desk duties, payroll backup, and a range of administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Diploma in Administration, Office Management, Accounting or similar.
  • Five years of office experience.
  • Three years of operations work experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in recordkeeping and systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the role.
  • Support the Manager of Operations, Quality Manager, Superintendent, Roads, Road Foreman and Crew.
  • Provide payroll backup and reception/office administrator support as needed.
  • Manage requisitions, material usage reports, and inventory system.
  • Track and process MoTI contracts (H200s).
  • Maintain filing system for operational correspondence with subs, suppliers and MoTI.
  • Update records and build reports and balance sheets.
  • Research and advise management on ideas for improved practices.
  • Communicate, improve and adhere to safety policies.
  • Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable; manage Petty Cash.

Dawson Road Maintenanceis looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Coordinatorto provide essential support in managing day-to-day operations.The ideal candidate will excel in coordinating administrative tasks,scheduling, and communication, contributing to the overall efficiency andsuccess of the team.

In thisrole you will be a valued member at Dawson Road Maintenance, working as a permanent,full-time Operations Coordinator,reporting to: Manager of Operations. This role is responsible for answeringphone calls, managing the front desk, and performing a variety ofadministrative tasks. Your base location will be100 Mile House, BC.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
  • Provide support to the Manager, Operations, Quality Manager, Superintendent, Roads, Road Foreman and Crew
  • Provide backup support for payroll, and reception/office administrator when required
  • Manage requisitions, material usage reports, and materials inventory system
  • Track and process work contracts (MoTI H200’s)
  • Keep a filing system for all operational correspondence relating to road and bridge maintenance, sub-contractors, hired equipment, suppliers and MoTI correspondence
  • Update detailed records and build various reports, information files and balance sheets
  • Research and advise management on ideas for improved practices
  • Communicate, improve and adhere to safety policies in all work environment areas
  • Processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and keeping a balance Petty Cash Fund
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Post Secondary Diploma in Administration, Office Management, Accounting or a similar field
  • Five (5) years of office experience
  • Three (3) years of operations work experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in recordkeeping and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Continuously updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
