Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance, part of the Dawson Group, is seeking a Senior Foreperson to lead seasonal road maintenance crews in Meziadin BC. This full-time role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to supervise crews, subcontractors, and equipment across multiple sites in the province.

Base location is Meziadin BC with some travel; the role demands strong planning, safety focus, and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in management roles.
• 5+ years in road maintenance experience.
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement is an asset; Class 1 preferred.
• Ability to liaise with MOTT avalanche technicians.
• Ability to operate equipment subject to qualifications.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and complete shift work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance crews, sub-contractors and hired equipment.
• Identify work, plan, and prioritize for cost-effective service delivery.
• Conduct highway patrols and inspections as per procedures.
• Assign work to road crews to ensure safe, productive results.
• Oversee fleet of road maintenance equipment and ensure proper maintenance and safety.
• Assist Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Quality Manager with delivery of quality services.
• Maintain records of work identification, materials, and road inspections.
• Monitor operations to meet environmental responsibilities.

Job description

Dawson Road Maintenanceis looking for a Senior Forepersonwho demonstrates exceptional leadership skills, meticulousplanning, and practical hands-on experience to consistently achieve companyobjectives.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson RoadMaintenance, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Senior Foreperson, reporting to the Superintendent. As the Senior Foreperson, you will supervise the activities ofmaintenance crews, sub-contractors and hired equipment. Your base location willbeMeziadin BCand will require some travelthroughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Identify work, prioritize, and plan toensure efficient and effective services
• Conduct highway patrols and inspections inaccordance with work procedures
• Perform quality control inspections ofidentified routine work and approve quantified work
• Assign work to road crews toachieve quality work accomplished in a safe, productive, and environmentallyresponsible manner
• Oversee and manage the fleet of road maintenanceequipment to ensure it is well-maintained, safe to operate, and usedefficiently on all job sites
• Assist the Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Quality Manager with all issues relating to the delivery of qualityservices
• Complete and maintain records related to work identification, materials, and road inspections
• Control and monitor operations to ensure theymeet the requirements of the environmental responsibility

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in management level roles required
• Minimum five (5) years of knowledge and experience in the road maintenanceindustry required
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with an Air Brake Endorsement is an asset
• Valid Class 1 Driver’s License preferred
• Ability to liason with MOTT avalanche technicians
• Capability to operate equipment subject to qualifications
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to complete shift work as required
