About The Organization
The College of Digital Transformation at Dalhousie University is a new joint initiative between the Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Management, designed to provide interdisciplinary research and learning. Through teaching, applied research, and industry and community engagement, the College of Digital Transformation trains students and Highly Qualified Personnel to become future-ready leaders that possess the knowledge and skills required to take advantage of the rapidly evolving career opportunities in digital transformation.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Co-Directors of the College of Digital Transformation, the Operations and Programs Manager will be responsible for playinga critical role in establishing the College’s core operations, policies and programs. Through building strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, they will lead the coordination and delivery of student-focused research and learning activities related to digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of key College programs, including the bi-annual skills bootcamp.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with work-integrated learning partners and other external organizations in Halifax and nationally.
- Organize and manage the logistics for all College meetings, including bi-monthly stakeholder updates and committee meetings, ensuring clear agendas and follow-up on action items and act as the primary point of contact for College faculty and students, actively connecting them with stipends, training programs, and other learning opportunities supported by the College.
- Establish and maintain an information hub (e.g., shared calendar and workspace) for grant deadlines, key events, and opportunities relevant to College faculty and students.
- Develop and manage communications to promote College research and learning activities, celebrate student successes, and ensure stakeholders are informed of upcoming events and opportunities.
- Track and report on key performance indicators for College programs; identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the impact of the College.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in digital innovation, business and management, computer science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating workshops with diverse stakeholders and experience working with industry stakeholders and organizations external to the university.
- Demonstrated understanding of work-integrated learning principles and practices. Having experience in tracking and reporting on program metrics or Key Performance Indicators.
- Understanding of the research environment at Dalhousie University, particularly in technology or interdisciplinary fields.
- Demonstrated project management, digital technology/business technology skills.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams or environments. Having a proactive and adaptable work style, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving start-up environment within Dalhousie University.
