Job description

Job Title : Operational Security Analyst

Location : Remote within Canada

Contract : 6 to 12 months +

Overview :

We are seeking a hands-on Operational Security Analyst to support daily security operations and help strengthen our defensive posture amid an ongoing breach investigation. This contract role ensures operational readiness and execution of security controls.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor security systems, alerts, and logs to identify potential threats and suspicious activity.
  • Support incident response activities by providing timely operational data and coordinating with teams.
  • Maintain and improve security policies, procedures, and playbooks aligned with incident response needs.
  • Assist in configuring and tuning security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Conduct routine audits and assessments of security controls and compliance status.
  • Facilitate communication between security, IT, and business units to ensure smooth security operations.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in security operations, SOC, or incident response roles.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring tools (Splunk, QRadar, CrowdStrike, etc.).
  • Good understanding of network protocols, endpoint security, and threat detection techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, GSEC, or equivalent) preferred.

Additional Details :

  • Contract duration: 6 to 12 months, with potential for extension.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
  • Remote work with flexible hours possible.
