Operational Excellence Associate - Logistics (Receiving)

In this position, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of incoming products and the efficient coordination of outbound shipments as well. This dynamic role requires a proactive individual who can manage both shipping and receiving tasks to support seamless supply chain operations at our distribution centre.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving responsibilities.

  • Inspect and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Record all received items in the inventory system and ensure proper documentation.
  • Organize and store received goods in the designated dock to stock locations.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing and accounts payable departments to resolve any discrepancies or quality issues with received items.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to schedule deliveries and coordinate returns or exchanges when necessary.
  • Receive shipments of the store directly based on our min and max allocated at the store level.

Shipping responsibilities.

  • Prepare and pack outgoing shipments in compliance with shipping guidelines and safety standards.
  • Generate shipping labels, waybills, and other necessary documentation for each shipment.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to arrange pick-up and delivery schedules if required.
  • Track and monitor the status of outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
  • Address any issues or delays that may arise during the shipping process and find suitable solutions.

Inventory Management.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and stock audits.

Compliance and Safety.

  • Adhere to all shipping and receiving protocols, safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Ensure that all hazardous materials are handled, stored, and shipped in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Communication and Collaboration.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, such as purchasing, sales, and warehouse, to coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory management.

Qualifications And Skills.

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience. (Prefer candidate with supply chain management degree or certificate)
  • Quick learner and adaptable.
  • Physical capability to stand for up to 10 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks (bending, twisting, pulling, climbing ladders).
  • Occasional climbing of ladders.
  • May require the ability to operate material handling equipment such as pump trucks & other machines as required. Training will be provided for licensed machines if needed.
  • Manual dexterity (quick with the hands).
  • Constant professional communication with coworkers, team leads, and supervisors.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
