Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the operating room on a 12-month temporary contract. The role involves patient-centered care in a fast-paced OR, with duties across assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing care, contributing to a safe perioperative environment.

Responsibilities include supervising care, collaborating with an inter-professional team, and floating to the outpatient cystoscopy department as required.

Qualifications

• Experience within the last five years with a minimum of two years in the operating room preferred.
• Operating Room certificate required.
• Current Perioperative certification – CPN(c) preferred.
• Knowledge of Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada standards of practice required.

Responsibilities

• Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Provide patient-centred care to ensure safety and well-being.
• Deliver care in a compassionate, culturally diverse environment.
• Float to the outpatient cystoscopy department as needed.
• Provide health teaching and thorough discharge instructions for continuity of care.
