This position acts as an expert resource to various health service teams throughout the system in the ongoing provision and monitoring of supplies and equipment to meet changing and complex care needs. Responsibilities include the introduction and monitoring of supplies, equipment, and technology for peri-operative client care, and identifying efficiency and effectiveness of these resources.
The OR Inventory/Equipment Coordinator develops and ensures effective utilization of equipment and supplies related to the service delivery model for delivering complex peri-operative care. The role involves collaboration with various health disciplines and external resources to identify and develop educational opportunities for staff regarding inventory, supplies, equipment, and technology within the Operating Room.
The Coordinator is responsible for communicating daily supply and equipment needs, coordinating changes between programs, and developing strategies to optimize resource use to meet client needs. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards to support resource utilization within the Operating Room, as well as supervising staff.
