Job description

Job Description

Adhering to established standards, procedures and policies, the Engineer ensures that the boilers and related equipment is functioning effectively, in order to provide a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for patients, staff and visitors.

What must you have?

  • Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and its operation.
  • Stationary Engineers Certificate.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.

What else do you bring?

  • Adherence to established standards, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to write job order requests, order parts and make repairs to ensure all equipment pertaining to Plant Operations is functioning effectively.
  • Record all required readings and maintain accurate records regarding the operation of Plant Operations.
  • Perform appropriate tests on boilers, chillers, and condensate tanks to determine proper chemical levels as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effective use of empathy in interactions with others and demonstration of behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.
  • Model behaviour that aligns with the values of Mackenzie Health – Excellence, Leadership and Empathy.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

  • Millwright COQ preferred.
  • Hospital experience preferred.
