4-year university degree in applied sciences, business administration or economics
- Be the single point of contact for daily maintenance and operations activities at Darlington Waste Management Facility (DWMF).
- Create short- and long- term plans for Ops & Maintenance, integrating inputs Work Management, Projects, Engineering, and other organizations.
- Support Manager and Senior Manager in initiation, development and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects for DWMF and Nuclear Sustainability Services (NSS) Division, including reporting on schedule progress and cost vs budget
- Identify Facility operational and production risks, develop contingency and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advise line management on long term performance management issues.
- Consult with technical resources and provide guidance to influence first line managers to ensure consistency of approach.
- Administer, coordinate and oversee maintenance and project contracts.
Qualifications
- Education : Requires a knowledge of physics, engineering principles, mathematics and chemistry as related to industrial and power generation equipment. Requires a knowledge of work management and project management principles.
- Requires a good knowledge of English, both oral and in written form to effectively communicate with others and to prepare concise reports.
- Requires this knowledge to organize, conduct and coordinate various phases of assigned projects and assignment, and the application of sound technical skills. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired by successful completion of a 4-year university degree in an appropriate field of study, such as applied sciences, business administration or economics, including project management as it relates to project and asset management, or by having the equivalent level of education.
- Experience : Project management, Work Management.
- Managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Familiarity with equipment and processes in generating station or similar heavy industry. Solving problems and providing guidance.
- Knowledge of cost accounting and forecasting as it relates to project management.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in managing projects of increasing complexity is considered a necessary requirement.
- Project complexity would normally be defined by multiple-contract, multiple stakeholder projects with schedule constraints.
- A period of over 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
