Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Technician in Open Pit Production Geology for a Fly-In Fly-Out assignment at our Meliadine operation. Reporting to the Open Pit Geology Coordinator, you will support drilling campaigns, data management and ore handling to ensure production targets are met.

The role requires a college diploma in mineral technology, at least 2 years in mining, a valid driver’s license, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mineral technology or equivalent, surveying knowledge is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of mining industry experience, open pit experience is an asset.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Cultural awareness for Arctic operations is an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks assigned by Open Pit Production Geology Coordinators.
• Assist with delineation drilling tasks, core handling, sampling and inspections.
• Lay out ore packets and refresh as needed.
• Mark 'no dig' and blast limit lines as required.
• Install and recover BMMs.
• Coordinate with production geologists and mine operations to move ore correctly.
• Collect blast hole samples and submit to the assay lab promptly.
• Maintain accurate files, maps, and records; ensure records are up to date.
• Perform other related departmental duties as required.
