Job summary

Greenstone Mine in Ontario is seeking a Production Supervisor responsible for the safety and efficiency of all operators and laborers within Mine Operations. The role reports to the Mine Operations Superintendent and is based in Greenstone, Ontario with a rotational schedule.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in open-pit mine operations, including 3 years at the supervisory level, strong leadership, and advanced knowledge of mining equipment.

Qualifications

• Open-pit mine operations experience, including 3 years in supervision.
• Strong leadership and safety-conscious mindset.
• Advanced knowledge of mining equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication; Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for safety values and protocols through positive leadership.
• Ensure crew compliance with legislation and operating standards.
• Assess daily plans and dispatch equipment and personnel to meet production deliverables.
• Collaborate with supervisors and department leaders to develop procedures and safe work instructions.
• Coordinate and prioritize equipment repairs with the maintenance team.
• Manage scheduling and training of the workforce to minimize delays in equipment use.
• Conduct and document daily safety audits and production reports.
• Inspect all Mine Operations’ work areas and monitor equipment utilization against targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor team members.
• Conduct weekly compliance audits of operating procedures and safe work instructions.
• Investigate near misses, incidents, and equipment damage as a top priority.
