Job Overview
This role involves logistical and vendor coordination and contracts management.
- Coordinate a multi-functional workforce in project execution, evaluating requirements, and determining the most efficient means, equipment, materials, and workforce.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor construction work, providing explanations regarding responsibilities, installations, equipment utilization, and processes.
- Make staffing recommendations, ensure compliance with work assignments and agreements, and manage work site performance issues, policies, and conduct concerns.
- Support the Project Lead in managing the project budget, review expenditures, and explain variances.
- Address unforeseen problems like material issues, design changes, resource shortages, or weather, and provide reports on variances.
- Assist in contract management tasks, including oversight of contractors, safety, quality, schedule, and cost, maintaining logs and records.
- Ensure work meets specifications and safety standards, monitor progress, and liaise with stakeholders to coordinate work and resolve issues.
- Manage field construction contracts, review performance requirements, prepare proposals, and participate in evaluation teams.
- Advise departments on contractual rights and obligations, and lead activities related to construction readiness and site logistics.
- Monitor schedules, costs, workload, and resource demands, and contribute to planning and estimation meetings.
- Develop plans based on drawings, methods, and practices, and keep management informed of progress and issues.
- Administer field contracts, facilitate payments, and document changes in scope, schedule, or costs.
- Coordinate contract close-outs and be familiar with union contracts and jurisdictional issues.
- Coordinate work efforts to ensure uninterrupted workflow, safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards.
- Participate in safety and environmental plan development, promote safe practices, and conduct safety meetings.
- Manage site facilities, support local purchasing, and verify invoices.
- Maintain site records, resolve contract disputes, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Conduct or assist with self-assessments and process improvements.
Qualifications
Education
- Requires detailed technical knowledge of contracts, building codes, inspections, electrical equipment, and control systems related to nuclear facilities, attained through Grade XII plus 3 years of specialized study or equivalent apprenticeship.
Experience
- Experience in construction, modification, and maintenance of electrical generation stations, managing multi-union workforces, project management, and contract administration. Typically, 4 to 6 years of relevant experience is required.
