Job summary

Stantec is seeking to hire full-time personnel for the role: Project Archaeologist, Field Lead, to join our Archaeology team in Ontario. An individual in this role will be highly organized and self-motivated.

Your expertise will be utilized in all parts of Ontario, from urban core brownfields to fly-in only wilderness, for a wide array of private and public sector clients. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while taking on increasing responsibility

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
• Professional or Research Archaeology License issued by the Ministry in good standing is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of cultural resource management experience, with at least two (2) years of archaeological Field Supervision experience.
• A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Field Supervisor oversight and act as a Project Field Lead.
• Lead Stage 1 through 4 Archaeological Assessments in the field.
• Organize resourcing and logistics with Project Managers and Team Leads.
• Mentor Field Technicians and oversee probationary evaluations of new hires.
• Promote and participate in Stantec’s health and safety program.
