Job summary

Morson Group seeks an Assistant Project Lead for a 24-month, 100% onsite role at 889 Brock Road, Pickering. You will assist the Project Manager in scoping, planning, execution, and close out, coordinate design clarifications, and manage changes through the ECC process.

Responsibilities include preparing specifications and bid packages, evaluating tenders, and supporting decision documents. Strong communication and vendor interfaces are essential in this nuclear-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience within project engineering.
• Ideal candidates will have worked in Nuclear Projects and Engineering environment; position will require the individual to be a Nuclear Energy Worker.
• Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage interrelationships of various internal and external groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in coordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning, execution, and close out.
• Assist with the clarification of design and specification requirements, and arrange for necessary changes.
• Assist with engineering design changes using OPGs ECC process.
• Assist with preparation of specifications, bid packages, evaluation of tenders, and purchasing recommendations.
• Assist with preparation of decision documents to evaluate options balancing costs and schedule.
• Prepare and coordinate information pertinent to assigned projects and alternatives.
• Provide oversight of contractor schedules with scope, budgets, risks, and constraints.
• Maintain liaison with construction contractor on safety, documents, materials, work permits, and turnover docs.
• Assist with vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and recommend awards for best value to OPG.
• Initiate, manage, and administer contracts including payments and change orders.
• Assist Project Manager with regular project reports and progress meetings.
• Maintain awareness of corporate procedures relevant to project control and administration.
• Maintain process compliance during project execution and inform supervisor if not achievable.
