Job summary

Newmont Corporation in British Columbia seeks a senior environmental leader to drive compliance and stewardship at the Brucejack Mine. You will oversee programs, guide permitting efforts, and ensure operations meet regulatory obligations while pursuing continuous improvement.

You will lead environmental personnel, coordinate audits and monitoring, and collaborate with regulators and communities to advance responsible mining practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible environmental experience.
  • Professional designation (or eligibility) such as R.P.Bio., P.Chem., P.Geo., P.Eng., or P.Ag.
  • Strong knowledge of British Columbia environmental legislation, permitting, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and managing environmental data and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support environmental personnel and site compliance activities.
  • Implement and monitor environmental management plans and programs.
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Support spill response preparedness and environmental risk management.
  • Coordinate reclamation and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Partner with operational leaders, consultants, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, permitting, and best practices.
