We Invite Applications For The Position Of

Online Learning Administrative Assistant

35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The current rate of pay is $31.13 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education with completion of an office administration program certificate, including bookkeeping.
  • Minimum of two years recent clerical experience and experience with student information systems or similar.
  • Ability to manage data on school-based administrative networks to meet district and ministry requirements.
  • Typing speed of 50 wpm.
  • Experience in computer/software user support and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and digital document systems.
  • Ability to support learning resources management systems, cataloguing, shipping/receiving, including digital or online resources.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify system issues and develop solutions, including creating user reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining student records, enrollment data, registration, and attendance records.
  • Manage school and student databases, including user account setup and permissions.
  • Verify daily data entries and reports, staying current with Ministry of Education requirements.
  • Maintain user information and software licenses, including password management.
  • Support students and staff in system software use and data entry, generate reports as needed.
  • Handle mail and digital communications, including inquiries and registration forms.
  • Manage inventory, purchase supplies, and process invoices and reimbursements.
  • Perform reception duties, respond to inquiries, and assist with other clerical tasks.
  • Support resource distribution and inventory control.
  • Student supervision as required.
Additional Requirements
  • Applicants may be interviewed and approved by IEC.
  • Position locations will be determined by Indigenous Education and may change; initially at NIDES.
  • Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for Indigenous cultures, histories, languages, and traditions; Indigenous ancestry is required.
