Northern Lights College is seeking an instructor to deliver online courses for the Education Assistant Certificate and Diploma. Courses EDAS 141A and EDAS 243 will be taught, via MS Teams or the D2L site, to online learners during the September–December 2026 term (11.50 hours per week).
Start date is September 1, 2026. Requirements include a Master’s in Education, active BC teaching certification, 3–5 years of experience in a Kindergarten to Grade 12 setting as a teacher or Education Assistant,

Salary: $50.07 - $56.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Employees in this division may elect to enrol in the College Pension Plan with contributions matched by the Employer.
Description: Northern Lights College is seeking an individual with an exceptional ability to provide instruction for online students for our Education Assistant Certificate and Diploma. The successful candidate will deliver both EDAS 141A and EDAS 243. Note that delivery will be either through MS Teams or the D2L site.
EDAS 141A – Education Assistant Foundations is an introductory course that focuses on the roles and responsibilities of an education assistant, stressing that the assistant should be a member of the collaborative team in the classroom. An overview of basic principles and responsibilities will be provided. (Wed, 6:00 – 8:00pm)
EDAS 243 - Supporting Children's Mental Health: This course will introduce students to mental health issues experienced by children and adolescents, outlining various mental health disorders, diagnostic tools, and current interventions. The focus of the course will include exploration of mental health literacy, stigma, trauma informed practice, and classroom support strategies for children and adolescents with mental health issues.
