AbbVie Canada is seeking an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team, preferably based in Alberta or Vancouver, covering British Columbia and Alberta. The role will focus on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will develop business plans to execute brand strategies, deliver sales, and build strong customer relationships, always prioritizing patient needs and operating within company policies and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
  2. Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales effectiveness; handle objections effectively.
  3. Implement regional account plans to maximize sales opportunities.
  4. Gain and share insights on customer needs, market landscape, patient journeys, competitors, and clinical data.
  5. Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry, with oncology experience required and solid tumors experience preferred.
  • Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology, with experience in physician or account-based selling, medical, or marketing roles.
  • Proven sales record, excellent presentation skills, and ability to adapt sales approaches.
  • Recognized expertise in oncology products and competitive landscape.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to operate in a matrix environment.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with technology and tools.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel overnight (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.
