AbbVie Canada is seeking to hire an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team. Ideally, this role will be based in Alberta or Vancouver and will cover British Columbia and Alberta. The focus will be on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will develop business plans to execute brand strategies, deliver sales performance, and build strong customer relationships. They will support customer needs to maximize sales, always placing the patient at the center, and operate within AbbVie's policies, code of conduct, and applicable laws.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales effectiveness. Handle objections logically and rationally to close sales.
  • Support key stakeholders' needs and expectations to build trusted relationships.
  • Implement regional account plans to meet metrics and optimize customer coverage.
  • Understand customer needs, market landscape, patient journey, competitors, and clinical data. Share insights with team members to align strategies.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry, with oncology experience required and solid tumors experience preferred.
  • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology, with experience in physician or account-based selling preferred.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior.
  • Recognized expertise in oncology products and market dynamics.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and proficiency with business tools.
  • Effective in a matrix environment, innovative, and a credible team resource.
  • Leadership experience and ability to leverage findings for strategy development.

Skills & abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with technology and tools.
  • Willingness for evening/weekend work and overnight travel (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
