AbbVie Canada is hiring an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team, preferably based in Alberta or Vancouver, covering British Columbia and Alberta. This role will focus on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist develops business plans to execute brand strategies and tactics, deliver sales performance, and build strong customer relationships. They support customer needs to maximize sales, prioritize patient-centered efforts, and operate within AbbVie’s policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales performance, KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans and evaluate post-call outcomes to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Support key stakeholder needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships.
  • Implement regional account plans to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs, market landscape, patient journey, competitors, and share insights with the team.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role with clinical oncology background; experience with Solid Tumors is preferable.
  • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge of oncology and the Canadian Oncology sector.
  • Experience in physician or account-based selling, medical, managed healthcare, or marketing is preferred.
  • Proven sales success and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt sales approach based on customer behavior.
  • Recognized as an expert with in-depth knowledge of oncology products and competitors.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and proficiency with business tools.
  • Effective in a matrix environment, innovative, and responsive to change.
  • Credible and respected among peers, with leadership experience.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • English proficiency (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfort with technology and various tools/systems.
  • Availability for evening/weekend work and overnight travel (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Key in-field team competencies:

  • Strategic thinking for territory and account planning.
  • Sound business judgment and ability to assess market and competition.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within the team.
