We are seeking an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team, preferably based in Alberta or Vancouver, covering British Columbia and Alberta. This role focuses on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist will develop business plans aligned with brand strategies, deliver sales targets, and build strong customer relationships, always prioritizing patient needs and adhering to company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales performance, KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
  • Create and evaluate pre- and post-call plans to improve sales effectiveness, handle objections logically, and close sales.
  • Support key stakeholders' needs to build trusted relationships.
  • Implement regional account plans to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs, market landscape, and competitor activities; share insights with team for strategic alignment.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry, with oncology experience required, solid tumors experience preferred.
  • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology, experience with physician-based selling, medical, or healthcare marketing preferred.
  • Proven sales success, strong presentation skills, and ability to adapt to customer styles.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Innovative, credible, and collaborative team player with leadership experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with technology and tools.
  • Willing to work evenings/weekends, with 20-30% overnight travel and valid driver’s license and passport.

One position available for Western Canada, based in Alberta or BC.
