Job summary

Alberta Health Services seeks a Social Worker II to join the Psychosocial Oncology team at Central Alberta Cancer Centre. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide counseling, coordinate resources and support for patients and families across the cancer care continuum.

The role requires collaboration with oncologists, nurses and rehab specialists, with opportunities for in-person or virtual support and a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work; eligible for ACSW registration.
• Minimum of 1 year Oncology setting experience; 2 years in medical setting (acute/ambulatory/community care).
• CPR (BCLS) certification; MSI prevention and office ergonomics; PFAP experience in last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessment and resource-based interventions.
• Deliver individual, group and family treatment and counseling.
• Coordinate transition planning, discharge planning and case management.
• Work in a fast-paced outpatient clinic with diverse patients and high volume.
