The Onboarding Specialist is responsible for conducting the onboarding review in line with the current policy to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.

To perform AML/Due diligence checks on all clients and to identify and mitigate high risk factors. The Onboarding Specialist will on-board clients while adhering to the internal policies and procedures set out by Monex while identifying any potential risks to the business by following the escalation process stated in these policies.

You are required to act in accordance with the ‘Monex Code of Conduct’ as detailed in your contract of employment, the Employee Handbook and its related policies.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  1. Ensuring a smooth onboarding journey from start to finish
  2. Onboarding inbound sales inquiries (email, phone, chat) to ensure they are utilizing the platform to its full potential
  3. Consistently providing an exemplary customer experience
  4. Guiding new customers through onboarding setup and implementation; you are the primary point of contact
  5. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and onboarding progress
  6. Documenting client files in a structured format compliant with internal requirements
  7. Identifying opportunities for improvement within the onboarding process
  8. Proactive follow-up with clients and sales representatives to ensure timely completion of onboarding analysis
  9. Produce detailed reports with recommendations based on these findings
Business Knowledge / Technical Skills:
  1. Financial crime exposure to Canadian AML and Financial Crime
  2. Previous experience of working within a similar, regulated industry
  3. Previous experience in a customer client role
  4. Experienced in onboarding new accounts
  5. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a client-facing role, preferably in an onboarding role
  6. Working successfully in a target-driven operational environment. Ability to manage performance and targets in a fast-paced, pressured environment
  7. Knowledge of Salesforce
Leadership / Management Skills:
  1. Leads by example, embodying the culture and values of the Company
  2. Able to anticipate issues and risks and mitigate accordingly
  3. Credibility in dealing with clients and colleagues across complex organizations with different cultures and geographies
  4. Ensuring and maintaining the standard of all documentation for their department’s systems, controls, policies and processes
  5. Maintenance of decision-making records
Educational Qualifications:
  1. Educated to Degree-level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
Professional Qualifications:
  1. Current membership of relevant professional body desirable
  2. Current CPD Log - 12 hours per calendar year
