Job summary

Wajax is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Field Technician to support our Material Handling Equipment division. This field-based role focuses on performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on customer equipment to ensure safe operation and reduced downtime.

You will travel to customer sites, communicate findings clearly, and document service reports while adhering to safety and OEM standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical experience with material handling or heavy equipment.
• Preventative maintenance or field service experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in the field.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Red Seal Automotive Service Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician apprentice registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Conduct inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and issues.
• Complete maintenance per OEM standards and Wajax quality expectations.
• Identify and recommend corrective repairs to prevent failures.
• Travel to customer sites for on-site maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Document service reports and inspection checklists with parts used.
• Ensure work complies with safety policies and regulatory standards.
