Job summary

CBC Saskatoon is seeking a creative Video Producer for English Services on-site to collaborate with our news, current affairs and social media teams to produce high-impact visual stories.

You will craft original video content for web stories, CBC.ca, YouTube and TikTok, manage video lineups and support live storytelling across platforms.

A demonstrated knowledge of broadcast, digital and social media, strong storytelling, and the ability to balance multiple priorities are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a daily fast-paced multi-platform news environment.
• Strong visual storytelling skills.
• Proficient editing for linear video and social platforms.
• Experience packaging video content in innovative ways.
• Strong social media strategy for news organizations.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of Senior Digital Producer, work with the Video Unit to elevate and produce video across digital platforms.
• Highlight local stories on our digital platforms with vertical videos for TikTok, YouTube and CBC.ca.
• Understand how video is consumed and packaged on different platforms, including online articles and TV.
• Pitch and develop stories with research, interviews, shooting, writing and editing.
• Line up stories aligned with our strategic goals, including inclusion and Saskatchewan perspectives.
• Determine style, pace and sequencing to maximize discoverability.
• Provide guidance on workflows and best practices within the video team.
• Shoot interviews and gather visuals.
• Decide elements and transitions for video items.
• Build lineups for News Wheels and support streaming and live video needs.
