Job summary

Protocase Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join the Engineering & Design Services team in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

You will review customer designs, evaluate manufacturability, and prepare quotes while coordinating with production teams to move projects from concept to manufacturing. Working on-site full-time, you will apply DFM principles, analyze CAD models, and ensure designs meet Protocase's capabilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Experience in fast-paced, technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Review and quote customer designs based on build-to-print specifications.
• Analyze customer CAD models using SolidWorks.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to customer projects.
• Procure and process AS9102-compliant aerospace customer designs.
• Provide technical recommendations that improve manufacturability while maintaining design intent.
• Collaborate closely with internal manufacturing teams to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement through accurate documentation and technical communication.
