Job summary

Tim Hortons is seeking a well-rounded senior accounting professional to lead both operational and corporate accounting activities from the BC region. The role reports to a CPA-designated leader and involves hands-on work with leadership oversight.

Open at Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller level, with a target to align with the Assistant Controller scope. Strong emphasis on internal controls, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration across the finance team.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required and CPA is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; 10+ years for senior roles.
• Blend of public practice and industry experience is desirable.
• Experience in natural resources sectors (oil & gas, mining, forestry) is advantageous.
• Steady tenure and loyalty are valued by the client.
• Experience using sophisticated accounting software or ERPs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the accounting & finance team across accounting, payroll, payables, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliations, cost reporting and stakeholder reporting.
• Communicate regularly with head office finance teams.
• Maintain internal controls and policies; support audits and information requests.
• Provide financial analysis and process improvements related to costing, capital projects, assets and ERP administration.
• Support team development through training and mentorship.
