Job summary

Canada Post in Saint-Nicolas, Quebec is seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant to provide counter services with a customer-focused approach and to assist with everyday postal operations.

The ideal candidate should reside in the community. On-call availability and the ability to handle cash transactions are important, as is physical fitness for lifting and standing for long periods. The position is temporary with one vacancy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or experience in business administration.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail/service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
• Understanding of general or post office accounting systems.
• Physically fit to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push/pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work.

• Sort, distribute and process mail into appropriate classifications
