Job summary

Canada Post is seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant in Matagami, QC. You will provide counter services with a customer-focused approach, selling postal products to business and public, and assisting customers with information and forms.

The ideal candidate resides in the community; on-site presence is preferred. This temporary on-call role requires high school or equivalent, readiness for cash handling, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school completion or provincial equivalency; experience in business administration.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail/service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
• Familiarity with post office accounting systems.
• Physically able to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push/pull boxes, stand for extended periods; flexible for on-call work.

Responsibilities

• Sell postal products and services to the business community and public.
• Sort, distribute and process mail into appropriate classifications.
• Provide customers with information and forms.
