Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily duties such as heating food, preparing vegetables and starches, cutting fruit, portioning, dishwashing, and delivering food to classrooms.
• Assist the Chef in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.
• Ensure proper food storage and disposal, maintain temperature logs, and comply with all health regulations and best practices.
• Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.
• Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
• Responsibilities may evolve based on the needs of the daycare centers.

What you need

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• A clean criminal record check is required.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.
