Position Details

• Position: Casual Security Guard
• Sites: Various sites in Burlington and Hamilton
• Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
• Hours: Various hours
• Pay rate: $18/hr - $20.30/hr (varies by site)
• Posting Date: April 28, 2025
• Internal Closing Date: May 5, 2025
• External Closing Date: May 12, 2025

This position is "as needed" with no guaranteed minimum hours. Candidates must be flexible, available overnight, and able to pick up shifts on short notice. Paladin Security offers training programs to prepare for advancement and build your resume for future careers in law enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds, including parking, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
• Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activity.
• Control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, assisting staff during crises and evacuations.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, ensuring adherence to policies.
• De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Document incidents accurately and complete reports.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement for coordinated security.
• Enforce hospital policies and address violations.

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• First Aid & CPR - Level C (WSIB-approved)
• Covid Vaccine (two doses)
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, TB skin test
• G class Driver License with a clean abstract (last 3 years)
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Experience in security or law enforcement preferred
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or willingness to complete training (cost covered by Paladin with 6-month commitment)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
