We are seeking a dynamic and versatile On-Air Announcer & Sales Account Executive to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC. This unique role combines your passion for broadcasting with a keen ability to build relationships and generate revenue. The ideal candidate will be community focused, engaging on-air, have excellent sales skills, and be able to promote our station and its advertisers in a creative, compelling, and effective way.

Key Responsibilities

On Air Announcer (Mornings)

1. Host live radio broadcasts, ensuring high-energy, engaging, and informative content.
2. Be a part of the community, live, work, and play here.
3. Plan, prepare, and present shows that entertain and inform listeners.
4. Engage with listeners via phone, social media, and other interactive platforms.
5. Read scripts, commercials, and public service announcements, maintaining clear and articulate communication.
6. Conduct interviews, play music, provide weather, traffic, and news updates, and run station promotions.
7. Ensure seamless transitions between programming elements and respond to unforeseen technical issues during the broadcast.

Account Executive

1. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and advertisers to drive advertising revenue.
2. Develop and present customized sales proposals, including on-air commercials, digital, sponsored content, and promotions.
3. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, generating leads and building a strong client base.
4. Collaborate with Vista Sales team and management to meet revenue goals and station objectives.
5. Work closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction with campaigns, offering creative solutions to maximize their exposure.
6. Attend client meetings, participate in promotional events, and assist with station marketing efforts.

Qualifications

1. Prior experience as an on-air announcer or radio host, with a strong, clear, and engaging voice.
2. Proven sales experience, preferably in radio or media sales, with a strong understanding of advertising and marketing.
3. Excellent communication skills, both on-air and with clients.
4. Comfortable with live broadcasts, working under pressure, and adjusting to changing circumstances quickly.
5. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
6. Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing.
7. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for radio and sales.
8. Experience with radio production software (e.g., ENCO, Nexgen).
9. Basic knowledge of audio editing and production techniques.
10. A network of local business contacts or experience in local market sales.
