Job summary

NOVA Chemicals, Corunna Site, is hiring an Olefins Hot Side Operations Technician to oversee safe operation and maintenance of the Corunna site unit. The role includes progression toward top of the progression program and attainment of required certifications.

The ideal candidate has a CPET program or equivalent and a 4th Class TSSA certification, with plans to obtain 3rd Class within 36 months. Rotating shift work, strong problem solving, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• CPET program or equivalent technical diploma.
• 4th Class Operating Engineer certification (TSSA) required.
• Within Olefins Hot Side, obtain 3rd Class TSSA within 36 months of start date.
• Ability to work rotating shift; commitment to Responsible Care®.
• Strong problem solving / analytical skills; proactive and initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork minded.

Responsibilities

• Operate the designated unit area safely and efficiently.
• Teach and practice safe work permits and maintenance coordination.
• Perform DCS operations and monitor process equipment.
• Review schedules and DOIs; communicate schedule changes.
• Maintain logs and housekeeping; ensure readiness for outages.
• Support progression to proficient operation of the unit.
