Job Overview

GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking a skilled Oilfield Welder for a full-time position based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating components on oilfield equipment and infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for someone who values safety, precision, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship in challenging field environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform welding and fabrication tasks on piping, structural components, and heavy equipment.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedures.
3. Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds as required.
4. Ensure welds meet all safety and quality standards per industry codes.
5. Operate and maintain welding tools and equipment in safe, efficient condition.
6. Collaborate with field teams and supervisors to support maintenance and construction schedules.
7. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications:

1. Journeyman Welder (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent trade certification.
2. 3–5 years of experience in oilfield, industrial, or heavy equipment welding.
3. Proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes.
4. Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor environments.
5. Familiarity with pipeline and structural welding codes (e.g., ASME, API).
6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
7. Required Safety Tickets:
   • H2S Alive
   • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
   • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or BSO
   • Fall Protection
   • Confined Space Entry & Monitor
   • WHMIS 2015
   • Ground Disturbance (Level II preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. CWB certification or pressure ticket.
2. Experience welding on live or production facilities.
3. Strong understanding of field-level hazard assessments and JSA protocols.

Work Environment:

1. Field-based work in oilfield and industrial settings, often outdoors and in variable weather.
2. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
