Job summary

Suncor is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Base Plant Laboratory in Fort McMurray, AB. You will conduct analytical and QA/QC tasks, reporting results and supporting lab operations in a safety-focused environment.

The role requires a diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology or a BSc in Chemistry, plus 1+ years in industrial QC; a valid driver’s license is required. The position offers full-time hours and a rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology or BS in Chemistry.
• 1+ years in industrial quality control lab; refinery/oil sands preferred.
• Knowledge of QA/QC practices.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and project-based analytical work safely.
• Support department with analytical, instrumental, and problem solving.
• Record and report results per QA/QC procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
