Oil Burner Mechanic

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.

Work setting: On-site customer service, Commercial, Residential (Relocation costs covered by employer, Willing to relocate).

Tasks

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, and their components and controls.
• Lay out oil burner heating system components and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and service.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses

• Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification
• Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate

Experience

5 years or more.

Security and Safety

• Basic security clearance
• Criminal record check

Transportation/Travel Information

• Valid driver's licence
• Vehicle supplied by employer
