Job summary

Kibbi is seeking an experienced press operator for an on-site role in Ottawa. You will manage plate/cylinder setup, ink control, and production planning to ensure high-quality print runs.

The position requires at least 5 years in printing and a Master’s degree or equivalent experience, with responsibility for apprentices and coordination of press crews in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years or more experience in printing/press operations.
  • On-site work at Ottawa facility only.

Responsibilities

  • Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare production schedules.
  • Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity.
  • Plan production methods.
  • Estimate costs.
  • Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples.
  • Instruct apprentices.
  • Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console.
  • Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run.
  • Set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment.
  • Direct press crew to set up, operate and shut down press.
