Position Overview:

This role reports to the Manager, Ground Handling Program, and involves auditing ground handling quality, focusing on licensed third-party companies. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Service Level Standards, the Airport Ground Operations Manual, Pearson Standards, and other relevant manuals and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply GOM, Pearson Standard I-GOM, and AHM standards
  • Develop and utilize auditing tools, including software like Iauditor.com
  • Conduct audits and inspections of facilities and operations
  • Investigate enforcement actions and assess damages
  • Document and analyze audit evidence, prepare reports, and recommend damages
  • Monitor and review Service Level Standards, preparing management reports
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to improve procedures and compliance
  • Train staff and develop reports and presentations on standards and audit findings
  • Respond to inquiries related to ground handling operations and standards
  • Maintain organized records of audits and standards
  • Attend external meetings and forums to present findings and standards
  • Support committees influencing process improvements

This unionized position offers an hourly wage of $44.63 based on a 37.5-hour week. Candidates must be available to start immediately upon selection, with a possible written test during the process.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3 years of airport operational experience or 5 years in ground handling
  • Experience in report writing, auditing, and presentations
  • Experience working with airport partners and industry agencies is advantageous
  • Understanding of airport operations and ground handling operations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance
  • Valid ‘DA’ AVOP or ability to obtain within 30 days

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with Pearson Airport layout and ground support facilities
  • Understanding of airline, ground handling, and airport procedures, including emergency protocols
  • Proficiency with auditing software like I-auditor
  • Knowledge of SMS and project management principles
  • Effective collaboration, influence, and communication skills
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, airside environment during peak periods and in adverse weather
