Toromont Cat is looking for an OEM Buyer to join our team! This position plays a critical role in analyzing and maintaining inventory across all branches (55+) through OEM stock orders and emergency orders.
This is a full-time (24-month contract) position.

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Analyze and maintain proper stock levels in the branch network by processing stock orders to suppliers
- Process customer emergency orders daily to suppliers and/or source from internal stock
- Maintain parts pricing records in DBS, including uploading vendor price change files, using proper codes (cc, non-return indicator, etc.), and challenging supplier pricing disputes
- Review and process surplus returns back to vendors annually or semiannually, and ensure accounts receivable files are up to date
- Reduce inventory obsolescence by scrapping inventory or leveling stock among branches to ensure healthy inventory levels
- Work with Accounts Payable/Receivable to ensure prompt invoice payments, maintain current PO disputes, and manage outstanding customer orders/backorders
Must-haves for this role:
- 2+ years of purchasing and inventory control experience (required)
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in purchasing or an equivalent field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (required)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and charts
- Ability to place purchase orders, maintain supply inventory, and manage the pricing database
- Punctual, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team
- Polite and courteous customer service skills, working with internal and external customers and suppliers
- PMAC designation – Purchasing Management Association of Canada certificate
