Toromont Cat is looking for an OEM Buyer to join our team! This position plays a critical role in analyzing and maintaining inventory across all branches (55+) through OEM stock orders and emergency orders.

This is a full-time (24-month contract) position.

Responsibilities include:
  • Analyzing and maintaining proper stock levels in the branch network, processing stock orders to suppliers.
  • Processing customer emergency orders daily to suppliers and/or sourcing from internal stock.
  • Maintaining parts pricing records in DBS, uploading vendor price change files, and challenging supplier pricing disputes.
  • Reviewing and processing surplus returns back to vendors and ensuring accounts receivable files are up to date.
  • Reducing inventory obsolescence by scraping inventory or leveling stock among branches.
  • Working with Accounts Payable/Receivable to ensure prompt invoice payment, maintaining current PO disputes, and managing customer orders/backorders.
Minimum requirements:
  • 2+ years of Purchasing and Inventory Control experience.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in purchasing or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts).
  • Ability to place purchase orders, maintain supply inventory and pricing database.
  • Punctual, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Polite and courteous customer service skills.
  • PMAC designation (Purchasing Management Association of Canada certificate).
