Position Description

The individual is responsible for managing ocean freight services, with a focus on optimizing customer satisfaction and process efficiency. This role also involves overseeing transportation services across air and road freight. The role will build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring seamless global transportation processes. Acting as the primary liaison between the purchasing, implementation, and management teams, this position ensures smooth operations from booking to payment. Additionally, the role includes presenting customized supply chain solutions to potential clients and supporting the growth of a start-up/scale-up through strategic industry relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Documentation

  • Oversee all project-related documentation, including project plans, process flows, resource requirements, and business cases.
  • Track and report on project financials, including budget vs. actual resource hours and billings.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Building

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities, facilitating communication and progress updates.
  • Lead meetings, communicate project status, and ensure deliverables are met, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, carriers, and customers.
  • Anticipate and proactively address internal and external challenges to ensure smooth project execution.

Change Management & Process Ownership

  • Lead change management initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders, taking ownership of processes and challenging the status quo when necessary.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to present and implement customized supply chain solutions.
  • Provide solutions aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and optimizing international tools and processes.

Strategy & Business Development

  • Contribute technical expertise to business strategies, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the business by leveraging industry relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Transfer knowledge to relevant internal teams and offer ongoing support as needed.

Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Program Management, ideally within Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or SaaS/Technology.
  • Proven experience in ocean freight management, with knowledge of air and road transportation services.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in managing projects from initiation to completion, with a proven ability to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Experience with managing budgets and financial tracking for projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, contributing to the growth of a start-up/scale-up business.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or related field is preferred.
