Job description

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) at Monarch House, your primary responsibility is to implement interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or motor delays. Your role involves executing intervention plans developed and supervised by a Registered Occupational Therapist for clients in Monarch House's care. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Please note that we do not offer LMIA or independent contractor setups.

Employment setup: Part-time, hourly
Salary: From $23-24/hr
Work setting: Center-based
Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 7 PM PST, and Fridays from 3 PM to 7 PM PST

Daily Responsibilities include:

  1. Communicating with families/clients and supervisors regarding session progress.
  2. Implementing treatment plans based on best practices.
  3. Preparing teaching materials and organizing the teaching environment.
  4. Creating a positive and engaging environment for clients.
  5. Ensuring the well-being and safety of clients during care.
  6. Tracking client progress through data collection and graphing, keeping clients engaged.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Post-secondary coursework in Occupational Therapy.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an OTA.
  • Current Standard CPR and First Aid certification.
