About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist works under the supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services. The OT collaborates with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and/or maintain optimal levels of function in self-care, productivity, and leisure. Responsibilities include consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up while working within the hospital, clients' homes, and/or the community. The OT establishes individualized treatment plans, manages a busy caseload, and uses clinical judgment to prioritize daily issues. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The OT also provides education and support to clients, families, and caregivers and contributes to the clinical education of OT students and supervision of OT Assistants.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is mandatory.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect, safety, ethical practices, and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing needs.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.

Hours

  • Full-time long assignment position; 75 Hours biweekly
  • Starting as soon as possible for approximately (12) months. Dates are subject to change
  • Shiftwork, on-call & rotation schedule

Compensation and Incentives

$35.86 - $45.29 Hourly
