Job summary

Homewood Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized rehab and return-to-work plans. You will administer various assessments, interpret results, and provide interventions to improve daily functioning and vocational performance.

Collaborating with clients, families, employers, and an interdisciplinary team, you will support workplace reintegration through evidence-based practice, documentation, and therapy planning.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current registration in good standing with the provincial OT college.
  • Experience providing OT services to adults with mental health, psychological injury, rehab, disability management, or return-to-work needs.
  • Strong knowledge of OT assessment frameworks, functional capacity evaluation, and vocational rehabilitation principles.
  • Experience developing and implementing OT treatment, rehab, and return-to-work plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate both individual and group-based interventions.
  • Knowledge of workplace accommodations, disability management, and workers' compensation processes.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive OT assessments identifying functional, cognitive, emotional, psychosocial, and environmental factors impacting recovery and return-to-work readiness.
  • Complete initial screening assessments to identify barriers affecting functioning and reintegration.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment, rehab, and return-to-work plans.
  • Administer, interpret, and analyze standardized and non-standardized assessments.
  • Provide individual OT interventions, counselling, coaching, and skills development.
  • Facilitate group interventions and psychoeducational programs.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, employers, and stakeholders for successful reintegration.
  • Develop gradual return-to-work plans and provide functional capacity and accommodation recommendations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary assessments, case reviews, and discharge planning.
  • Prepare timely clinical documentation including reports, plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Support daily living activities, work performance, social participation, and overall occupational functioning.
