Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Occupational Therapist assesses assigned clients and develops and implements individual and group occupational therapy treatment programs. The Occupational Therapist maintains the Standards of Practice and Ethics of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. The role includes providing clinical education and experience for allied health students, participating in formal teaching and research in collaboration with Queen’s University, and engaging in discipline-specific and inter-professional activities to foster a client-centered environment, quality improvement, and professional development.


Skills and Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of a recognized school of Occupational Therapy
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Experience in the specified area of practice preferred
  • Experience in instructing students is an asset
Position Responsibilities
  • Utilize evidence-based and best practices
  • Use outcome measures to guide clinical decision-making
  • Review medical referrals
  • Assess clients' levels of function and needs in self-care, productivity, and leisure
  • Identify and implement treatment plans to achieve client goals
  • Prepare clients and caregivers for discharge
  • Accurately enter workload data at required intervals
  • Participate in occupational therapy education for clients, families, and caregivers
