1to1 Rehab is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to support a paediatric caseload in a school-based setting in Downsview. The role is independent contractor in the Clinical Services team, offering flexible scheduling in the GTA region.

You will assess and treat children, coordinate with families and schools, and maintain comprehensive documentation while operating under Ministry funding guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Registration with COTO to practice in Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive OT assessments focusing on ADLs/IADLs, home safety, and supports.
  • Assess home environments and recommend modifications to improve accessibility.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans with SMART outcomes.
  • Train and support use of assistive devices and home safety equipment.
  • Provide education to clients, families, and caregivers on safe mobility and daily care.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
  • Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document clinical notes promptly.

Caseload Area

We are currently recruiting for one part‑time Occupational Therapist to support a Paediatric caseload under secure Ministry funding. Services are provided in schools within the following area:

  • Downsview

You will have the opportunity to work within geographic areas that best align with your availability and travel preferences.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Completing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments focused on functional abilities, activities of daily living (ADLs/IADLs), home environment, safety, and available support systems
  • Assessing home environments to identify safety risks and recommending strategies and environmental modifications to reduce falls, improve accessibility, and support safe independence at home
  • Developing and implementing individualized, evidence‑based intervention plans aligned with best practice, client‑centred goals, and SMART outcomes
  • Recommending, trialing, and providing training in the use of assistive devices, mobility aids, transfer equipment, and home safety equipment, as appropriate
  • Facilitating short‑term trials of home safety or mobility equipment when required and supporting follow‑up recommendations
  • Providing education and hands‑on training to clients, families, and caregivers on safe mobility, transfers, daily care strategies, and energy conservation techniques
  • Supporting clients and caregivers to maintain independence, safety, and confidence in the home while reducing the risk of injury or functional decline
  • Assisting eligible clients with Assistive Devices Program (ADP) applications and navigating other relevant funding or community resources
  • Collaborating closely with clients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, meaningful careMonitoring, evaluating, and documenting client progress; adjusting intervention plans as needed; and completing timely, accurate clinical documentation
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
  • Two (2) years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check within 1 year of start with 1to1
